Ukraine will not participate in the G20 summit in Bali if Russian President Vladimir Putin is there, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said yesterday at a joint briefing with Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou in Kyiv, Ukrinform reports.
“I do not follow other countries’ participation in the G20 summit. My personal position and the position of Ukraine is that if the leader of the Russian Federation participates, then Ukraine will not participate. Let’s see how the future will have it,” he said.
On the same day, according to Zelensky, he had a telephone conversation with the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.
“In any case, we were invited again today. Let’s see again – there are a few days left,” said the Ukrainian President.
The G20 summit will be held on November 15-16 on the Indonesian island of Bali. Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry demands that the invitation to the summit for Russian dictator Putin be withdrawn and that Russia be expelled from G20 after Putin admitted to ordering missile strikes on Ukraine’s infrastructure.
