XI Ukrainian World Congress to convene on 24-27 November 2018 in Kyiv

On 24-27 November 2018, Kyiv, Ukraine, the XI Ukrainian World Congress (XI UWC Congress) will be held to sum up the work of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) for the period 2013-2018 and develop guidelines for its activities for the next four-year period.  This Congress will convene under this year’s UWC motto “Strengthening Ukrainian statehood for a brighter future!”

At the beginning of the XI UWC Congress, its participants will join Ukrainian state events in commemoration of the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-33 that will be taking place at this time in Kyiv.

Participating in the work of the XI UWC Congress will be delegates and guests from the UWC network, which today includes 57 countries, together with distinguished guests – high-ranking state officials and representatives of civil society in Ukraine and countries of residence of the Ukrainian diaspora.  

During the XI UWC Congress presentations will be made on the work of UWC structures and its member organizations, and discussions will take place on issues of significance to the Ukrainian community during a range of sessions and roundtables. Delegates and guests of the XI UWC Congress will engage in topics related to international support for Ukraine in the areas of defence, reforms, the economy and humanitarian aid, the positive image of Ukraine, the Ukrainian emigre community, Ukrainian national remembrance, the Ukrainian language, the development of Ukrainian communities in different regions of the world, nurturing informed Ukrainians, the Ukrainian youth movement and cooperation of Ukrainians in the diaspora with ethnocultural and religious communities in countries of the world.   

On the last day of the XI UWC Congress, on 27 November 2018, a new UWC leadership will be elected.
