The Head of the Congress of Ukrainians of Estonia and the Vice President of the Ukrainian World Congress, Vira Konyk, met with the newly appointed ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia, Maksym Kononenko.
“Among the series of meetings held by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia, Maksym Kononenko, in the first week of his tenure, there was also a meeting with me as the Head of the Congress of Ukrainians,” Vira Konyk wrote.
The meeting discussed, in particular, current aspects of the life of the Ukrainian community, existing problems, and prospects for change.
“It was important for me to hear their understanding of the situation with Ukrainians in Estonia, to see the problems and prospects through their eyes, to understand the expectations of the community, both already established and new, formed by refugees from the war. There is only one conclusion – there is a lot of work ahead both in the educational and cultural spheres and in the sphere of combating Russian propaganda, which continues to poison the brains and hearts of the Ukrainian community,” Maksym Kononenko noted.
With such partners as the Congress of Ukrainians of Estonia and the Ukrainian World Congress, we will do our best to win, the newly appointed ambassador concluded.
