Verkhovna Rada adopted a resolution yesterday recognizing the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria as temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation and condemning the genocide of the Chechen people, reports Espreso with reference to the Telegram channels of Ukrainian deputies.
The resolution was supported by 287 legislators.
“[Putin] forces Chechens to fight against Ukrainians. This is a typical imperialist policy of Russia in relation to other nations. Russia must be decolonized, and Ichkeria must be free,” MP Oleksiy Goncharenko commented on the adoption of the resolution.
Today, 🇺🇦 parliament officially recognized the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria as temporarily occupied by RU and condemned the genocide of the Chechen people. No doubt that RU is an evil despotic prison of nations. This evil should be defeated NOW. Freedom will prevail! #StopPutin pic.twitter.com/ZcKs8D2SVr
