The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is seeking  a talented and highly skilled Content Writer / Journalist to join our creative team.  Content Writer / Journalist will be responsible for creating compelling and engaging content that effectively communicates UWC messages and resonates with our target audiences. The successful candidate will be involved in various content creation projects, including writing and editing website copy, social media posts, advocacy materials, op-eds, articles, and more. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation: Produce high-quality, original, and impactful written content across multiple platforms and channels, ensuring consistency in style, tone, and key messaging.

2. Copy Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit content created by other team members and external contributors to ensure accuracy, clarity, and grammatical correctness. Pay attention to spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors.

3. UWC Messaging: Understand and align with the UWC’s voice and tone guidelines to maintain consistency in all written communication.

4. Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including policy adviser, public affairs director, and UWC leadership, to brainstorm ideas, develop creative concepts, and ensure content meets strategic objectives.

5. Quality Assurance: Perform thorough quality checks to ensure all content meets internal and external standards for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and brand voice.

Essential Skills & Requirements

1.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English. A strong command of grammar, vocabulary, and syntax is essential.

2. Proven experience in copywriting, content creation, or editing roles. Demonstrable portfolio showcasing diverse writing styles and content formats.

3. Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting.

4. Capable of working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and meeting strict deadlines.

5. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and accept constructive feedback.

Established in 1967, the Ukrainian World Congress is the global voice for the Ukrainian people worldwide. As an international non-governmental organization, we represent the interests of over 20 million Ukrainians in the diaspora, unite Ukrainian communities and organizations in over 65 countries, and work to support a democratic, prosperous, European Ukraine.

The UWC is recognized by the United Nations Economic and Social Council as a non-governmental organization with special consultative status and has a participatory status as an international non-governmental organization with the Council of Europe.
