UWC’s Energize Ukraine and Energy Act for Ukraine to provide solar panels at four more Ukrainian schools

This fall the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), in partnership with the Energy Act for Ukraine foundation, will begin the process of installing solar power systems at four more schools in Ukraine. The ongoing project forms a significant part of its Energize Ukraine initiative.

The chosen schools serve around 3,000 students, including Heorhii Voronyi Pryluky Gymnasium No. 1 in Chernihiv Region, Bobrytsia Lyceum in Cherkasy Region, Nemishaieve Lyceum No. 2, and the “Intellect” Academic Lyceum within the Kyiv Region.

As a result the schools will be equipped with hybrid solar power systems, capable of storing and accumulating energy and ensuring a stable power supply. Such a capability is vital, given the continuing threat to Ukraine’s energy system. The project will encourage young people’s education on environmental education and develop awareness of conservation issues.

“The agreement was signed in June 2024 during the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 (URC2024) in partnership with the Ukrainian World Congress as part of their Energize Ukraine initiative,” said Energy Act for Ukraine.

Only last year, as part of the Energize Ukraine initiative to support and restore Ukraine’s energy system, the UWC upgraded a school in Chernihiv.
