UWC and WFUWO to hold second part of dialogues on Ukraine’s decolonization

The Ukrainian World Congress and the World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations will hold the second part of the meeting within the dialogue on the processes of decolonization of Ukraine.

“We invite you to a dialogue within the framework of the Decolonization practices of continuation meeting, which will be held online, on the Zoom platform, on July 9 at 12:00 Kyiv time,” the organizers said.

The meeting will be dedicated to the Sixtiers – the young generation of Ukrainian artists of the 60s of the 20th century with a pronounced civic stance.

“The Sixtiers are the voices of freedom that sounded in an inevitable dance against the taunts of totalitarianism. We invite you to continue learning about our history and decolonization through the microcosm of the Ukrainian Sixtiers – young people who created a new culture during the “Khrushchev Thaw,” the organizers add.

The Ukrainian World Congress and the World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations  emphasize that this is “a great opportunity not only to deepen your knowledge of history, but also to find inspiration and new perspectives.”

The program of the event includes a discussion of the Rebellion Against the Empire book with the author, Radomyr Mokryk, as well as Yuliia Kravchenko, the founder and organizer of the Festival of the Sixtiers and Dissident Movement in the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine National Center. The initiator and moderator of the event is Nataliya Poshyvaylo-Towler, Vice-President of the Ukrainian World Congress.

“This is a delving into the world, which, contrary to the rules of the Soviet totalitarian regime, was based on the principles of solidarity, mutual support and respect between outstanding young talents,” UWC and WFUWO conclude.
