The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) welcomes the remarks delivered by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on 26 September 2018 during the General Debate of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA.
Specifically, the UWC fully supports the call of President Petro Poroshenko for:
(a) a comprehensive reform of the UN Security Council to ensure that veto-holding members of the Council can no longer violate international law with impunity; and
(b) the deployment of a UN peacekeeping mission to Donbas to help stop Russian aggression and bring peace to Ukraine.
“The Ukrainian World Congress welcomes the remarks of the President of Ukraine at the United Nations General Assembly and supports his call for the international community to increase pressure on the Russian Federation to force an end to its military aggression against Ukraine and release all illegally detained Ukrainian citizens,” stated Eugene Czolij.
