UWC VP Semenov joins first forum of Ukrainians in Kazakhstan

Yevheniy Semenov, UWC Vice President for Middle East and Central Asia, has participated in the first online forum of the Ukrainian diaspora in Kazakhstan, organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Kazakhstan.

The forum brought together leaders of Ukrainian cultural associations, as well as principals and teachers from Ukrainian schools across the country.

“I conveyed greetings from the President of the Ukrainian World Congress, Paul Grod, and the Chair of the World Federation of Ukrainian Women Organizations, Jaroszlava Hartyányi. I emphasized the importance of unity around Ukrainian values, the continued building of bridges between Ukrainians and Kazakhs, and assured that the Ukrainian World Congress is always ready to actively cooperate with and support the Ukrainian community in Kazakhstan – a part of the global Ukrainian family,” Semenov wrote.

During the discussions, participants highlighted the importance of the Ukrainian diaspora in Kazakhstan becoming part of the global Ukrainian community. This would help strengthen international solidarity with Ukraine and engage the community, especially children and youth, in the activities of Ukrainian cultural centers in various regions of Kazakhstan.

“Participants shared their key areas of work, goals, challenges, and future plans,” added Semenov.
