UWC Vice President joins Australian PM on historic visit to Ukraine

Kyiv – On July 3, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese paid a visit to Kyiv for the first time. His trip included a tour of the northwestern suburbs where enemy occupation forces wreaked terror on peaceful citizens.

UWC Vice President Stefan Romaniw accompanied Mr Albenese during the visit, reporting, “A honor to be with the Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese on his visit to Kyiv Ukraine. A strong show of support. Together with Ambassador  Myroshnychenko we discussed a range of issues with PM…more information coming.”

Mr Albanese’s arrival is significant as the first official visit of an Australian PM to Ukraine in the history of relations between the two countries. According to Mr Albanese,  Australia will increase military assistance to Ukraine including the provision of an additional 14 armored vehicles, 20 Bushmaster armored vehicles, military equipment, drones and other military equipment.

Mr Albanese stressed that Australia is also ready to join international investigations into Russia’s long list of war crimes and to impose financial sanctions and travel bans on another 16 Russian officials and oligarchs.

Mr Romaniw spoke with Ukrainian Radio about his visit to Ukraine.  After seeing the horrors of Irpen with his own eyes, Mr Romaniw reminded the world to remember the brave territorial defense forces on the front line of the civilian terror campaign.  Support UWC’s Unite with Ukraine campaign to provide protective and operational gear to these civilian defenders.
