Dzvinka Kachur, UWC Regional Vice President for Africa and co-founder of the Ukrainian Association of South Africa (UAZA), will participate in an expert discussion on achieving a just peace for Ukraine.
The online event, hosted by the Daily Maverick, a leading South African English-language independent publication, will be held on 10 April at noon local time.
The discussion, titled, “Justice or Just Peace: The South African Perspective on Ukraine,” will explore key perspectives on the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war.
“Three years into the war, the global conversation is shifting toward what a negotiated end might mean. But peace without justice risks repeating history,” the organizers said.
It will delve on South Africa’s experience with transitional justice, accountability, and reconciliation – and how those lessons could be relevant to modern-day Ukraine.
“Whether you’re interested in international law, conflict resolution, or the future of global peace-building, this webinar offers fresh perspectives, practical insights, and a rare chance to engage in a cross-continental dialogue on one of the world’s most urgent challenges,” the organizers said.
