UWC thanks Justin Trudeau for his service and support of Ukraine

Jan. 7, 2025 – Toronto, ON. The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) extends its heartfelt gratitude to Justin Trudeau for his nine years of dedicated service as Canada’s Prime Minister. We also commend Mr. Trudeau for his unwavering friendship, strong alliance, and consistent support of Ukraine and its people on the global stage.

Under Prime Minister Trudeau’s leadership, the partnership between Canada and Ukraine flourished, gaining new momentum in various areas of cooperation.

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Canada has played a pivotal role in the international community, supporting the Ukrainian people’s fight for sovereignty and freedom. Canada’s voice has been crucial among G7 states and NATO allies, helping to implement measures to hold the Russian aggressor accountable for its actions.

Canada has provided unprecedented humanitarian and military support to Ukraine, including tanks, air defense systems, and artillery, and continues to develop new assistance measures based on Ukraine’s needs.

With Justin Trudeau’s recent announcement of his resignation as Prime Minister, it is essential to maintain the unity and solidarity between Canada and Ukraine. Together, we can achieve victory over the Russian aggressor and uphold the values that underpin our right to live in democratic societies that respect human rights.
