Devon Sereda Goldie Social Media & Admin Assistant

As Social Media and Admin Assistant, Devon assists in the management of UWC’s website and social media, prepares and distributes communication materials, provides translation services, and provides general office admin assistance.

Devon is deeply involved in the Ukrainian Canadian community locally, provincially, and nationally. She is the President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Victoria Branch, Vice President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – British Columbia Provincial Council, Former Vice President National of the Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union (SUSK), Founder and Past President of the UVic Ukrainian Students’ Society, and a Board Member of the Ukrainian Canadian Cultural Society of Vancouver Island. She is a recipient of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress National Youth Leadership Award.

Devon is pursuing her Master of Arts in Applied Theatre and Ukrainian Studies, researching how theatre can be used as a vehicle for healing in the context of intergenerational trauma in the Ukrainian Canadian community. She has spoken at many international academic conferences about her research.

Devon is fluent in 3 languages, holds a BFA, and is a fourth generation Ukrainian Canadian who grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She now lives in Victoria on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.
