UWC Secretary-General congratulates Ukrainian diaspora in Canada for engaging support for Ukraine’s democratic development

On 28-29 April 2017 Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) Secretary-General Stefan Romaniw participated in Ukrainian community events in Toronto during a working visit to Canada.

The UWC Secretary-General delivered greetings to the banquet held on 29 April 2017 in conjunction with the XXVII Triennial Congress of the League of Ukrainian Canadians and XXI Triennial Congress of the League of Ukrainian Canadian Women during which he commended the work of the organizations and the entire Ukrainian diaspora in Canada in furthering the interests of Ukraine. He expressed particular gratitude to the Government of Canada for being a leader in its unwavering commitment to supporting Ukraine in defending its territorial integrity and furthering reforms.

Earlier that day Stefan Romaniw visited Yuri Lypa Ukrainian Heritage School and engaged with students on their important role in preserving the Ukrainian identity in Canada.

On 30 April 2017 the UWC Secretary-General attended a banquet sponsored by Ukrainian Canadian Social Services Toronto honoring renowned Canadian plastic surgeon Dr. Oleh Antonyshyn for his dedication to helping victims of Russian aggression in Eastern Ukraine with volunteer medical missions organized by the Canada Ukraine Foundation.

“The Ukrainian World Congress congratulates the leadership of the Ukrainian community in Canada and the countless volunteers who remain firmly dedicated to engaging Canadians as leaders in support of Ukraine and Ukrainian interests,” stated UWC Secretary-General Stefan Romaniw.
