UWC representative makes Ukrainian philanthropist rating in Canada

Andrew Potichnyj, Head of the Unite with Ukraine initiative of the Ukrainian World Congress, entered the list of prominent benefactors for Ukraine among the diaspora in Canada. It is the 50 Canadian Fellows of Ukraine project of the UDoNation International Charitable Fund.

The initiative tells the stories of Canadians helping Ukrainians during the war, volunteering, fundraising, and purchasing weapons, medicine, and necessities.

“Mr. Andrew Potichnyj – he is the Director of the Ukrainian World Congress initiative “Unite With Ukraine”; he ran a construction business in Canada for 17 years while volunteering with several Ukrainian non-governmental and community organizations, including Help Us Help Charity and Veteran Hub; he has been supplying military aid to Ukrainian volunteer battalions since 2014; the “Unite with Ukraine” initiative has successfully procured and delivered military aid worth more than $40 million to the Territorial Defense Forces, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Emergency Service, and other Ukrainian law enforcement agencies,” the organizers of the initiative said. 

The list also includes Gen. Rick Hillier, Canadian Armed Forces (ret.), former chief of the defense staff of Canada; Paul Wynnyk, the first Canadian Army Commander of Ukrainian origin, Lieutenant-General; Thomas Lukaszuk, a Canadian politician and former Deputy Prime Minister of the Canadian province of Alberta, as well as Oleh Antonyshyn, Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Toronto.
