Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Paul Grod will embark on an official visit to Northern Europe from November 15 to 25, traveling to Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
The visit will feature meetings with Ukrainian community leaders, political figures, and government representatives, along with participation in several key events.
Discussions during these meetings will cover Ukraine’s path to NATO membership, the transfer of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine, the return of Ukrainian prisoners of war, and the repatriation of Ukrainian children deported by Russia.
Other topics will include recognizing the Holodomor as genocide, safeguarding civilian infrastructure amid the ongoing war, humanitarian initiatives for Ukraine, the role of Scandinavian countries in supporting Ukraine, and strengthening international support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
On Nov. 17, Grod will join a peace march in Copenhagen to mark 1,000 days since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as announced by the Association of Ukrainians in Denmark.
“We will bow our heads to honor those who gave their lives and thank all who continue fighting today for our peaceful tomorrow!” the message reads. “Yet, we not only remember the losses and hardships Ukraine has endured, but also call for continued support for Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and independence.”

The UWC is also launching a global advocacy campaign titled “Remembering the Holodomor – the genocide of Ukrainians continues,” to commemorate the Holodomor genocide of 1932-1933, observed this year on Nov. 23, as well as the 1,000 days of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.
