UWC President joins Crimea Platform Summit

Paul Grod, the President of the Ukrainian World Congress, joined the Second Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform. The event is taking place on October 24 in Prague.

“The parliamentary measure aims to raise the awareness of world leaders and the general public about the Russian occupation of Crimea, human rights violations, the security situation in the Black Sea region, global food security, and the world order based on rules,” the Crimea Platform reported.

Among the panel discussions was the discussion of the inevitable liberation of Crimea, the restoration of justice, and the guarantee of non-repetition of Russian aggression. Details of the program can be found  at the link.

The UWC President focused on the destructive influence of Russia on various regions of the world through disinformation and propaganda in his address. In particular, Mr. Grod discussed the techniques and approaches used by the Russians to spread disinformation and lies. In addition, Paul Grod emphasized ways the global Ukrainian diaspora and Ukrainian communities in different regions of the world resist Russian disinformation and propaganda.

The broadcast of the Summit can be found on the official website of the Second Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform, its pages on Facebook, Youtube, and its website.

The Crimea Platform is an international consultation and coordination format initiated by Ukraine, aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the international response to the occupation of Crimea, responding to growing security threats, increasing international pressure on the Kremlin, preventing further human rights violations, and protecting victims of the occupation regime. The main goal of the Crimea Platform is to work out ways to peacefully de-occupy Crimea and return it to Ukraine. The summit was held for the first time in Kyiv on August 23, 2021.
