UWC President in Washington, D.C.: We urge politicians to assist Ukraine

Washington, D.C., February 23, 2024. President of the Ukrainian World Congress, Paul Grod, is on a visit to the US capital, Washington, D.C., where on February 24, he will join the global action as part of the StandWithUkraine global advocacy campaign on the occasion of the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in a war that has persisted for 10 years.

During the February 24 rally in the American capital, Grod, alongside leaders of Ukrainian communities and organizations, will call on US politicians to approve the aid package for Ukraine and ensure support.

“Here in Washington, we are preparing for a large march to commemorate the second anniversary of the full-scale invasion in the 10-year war between Russia and Ukraine. I urge you to join the global Stand With Ukraine action. Don’t be indifferent, participate, help Ukraine win – so that the world supports Ukraine. Your participation is crucial,” emphasized the UWC President.

US politicians pay attention to communities that stand united. That’s why it is extremely important to participate in global rallies, emphasized Grod in an interview for the national 24/7 newscast.

“Today, the world is facing the biggest threat to global peace and security since World War II. As we mark the second anniversary of Russia’s full-scale brutal genocidal invasion and 10 years of war against Ukraine, it is critical that we swiftly and resolutely secure Ukraine’s victory. Today, we call upon all peace-loving people to stand with Ukraine until victory. The cost to us today is a fraction of the long-term costs. We will be paying as Russia expands its empire. We must stop this genocide and restore international order,” Grod said in his video address to communities from Washington.

Paul Grod also called on Ukrainian communities to register their peaceful actions and events on the special page of the StandWithUkraine global advocacy campaign on February 24, 2024.
