UWC President Eugene Czolij met with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko

On 1 November 2016 in Kyiv, Ukraine, Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Eugene Czolij met officially with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to discuss the strengthening of the coordination of activities in defence of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and human rights in view of the Russian aggression against Ukraine; the consolidation of Ukraine as a reformed European state and combatting corruption in Ukraine.

The UWC President thanked the President of Ukraine for his constructive relationship with the Ukrainian diaspora, including during the commemorative event, “Ukrainians of the world – for Ukraine”held at the National Opera in Kyiv on the occasion of “25 years of Ukrainian Independence”, and presented him with the report and informational flyer about UWC activities and the Resolutions of the UWC Annual General Meeting with respect to future plans.

The meeting focused on a discussion of joint efforts dedicated primarily to furthering the ratification by the Netherlands of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement

Joining President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in the meeting were Deputy Heads of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Kostiantyn Yelisieiev and Rostyslav Pavlenko.

The UWC delegation, headed by UWC President Eugene Czolij, included UWC Vice President and Chair of the UWC Committee in Support of the Economic Development of Ukraine Olena Koszarny and Director of the UWC Mission to Ukraine Serhiy Kasyanchuk.

“The 20 million strong Ukrainian diaspora led by the Ukrainian World Congress and its organizational network in 53 countries will continue to actively support Ukraine in overcoming the hybrid war of the Russian Federation to secure peace and stability in Ukraine and in the world,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
