The UWC delegation, led by President, Paul Grod, visited the National Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny in Lviv. The meeting with the Head of the Academy, Lieutenant General Pavlo Tkachuk, focused on officer training for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, worldwide Ukrainians’ support for Ukraine and its military, the UWC’s # UniteWithUkraine campaign, the purpose of which is to collect funds, purchase ammunition and tactical medicine for the Ukrainian defenders. The meeting also touched on the informational, diplomatic, and economic side of the fight against the Russian occupiers.
For his strong support and significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities and volunteering, the UWC President received an award from the Lieutenant General – the Order of Hetman Petro Sahaidachny, 1st degree.
“The support of the international community plays a major role in today’s war. I thank the Ukrainian World Congress for their work. These efforts will lead to victory over our bitter enemy, the Russian occupier,” said Lieutenant General Pavlo Tkachuk. Since 2014, the Academy has trained a thousand defenders of Ukraine.
Mr. Paul Grod thanked the service members for bravely defending Ukraine since 2014 and all those striving to bring victory closer. “On behalf of the Ukrainian World Congress, I would like to make a small note and express my great gratitude to the Academy. You ignite the souls of all Ukrainians, both in Ukraine and worldwide. International support flows into Ukraine with your, Ukrainian defenders’, help”, – emphasized Paul Grod. The meeting participants also honored the memory of fallen Ukrainian soldiers with a ceremonial laying of flowers and a moment of silence.
