On 27 September 2016, Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Eugene Czolij addressed parliamentary hearings in Ukraine on the topic: “75th anniversary of the tragedy of Babyn Yar: lessons of history and the present.”

During his address, on behalf of the 20-million-strong Ukrainian diaspora led by the UWC and its organizations in over 50 countries, the UWC President paid tribute to the innocent victims of Babyn Yar.

“I believe that this year’s remembrance of the victims of Babyn Yar will stimulate the resolve of the international community to prevent crimes against humanity from being repeated, including the continued gross violations of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and human rights in Crimea and Donbas,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
