UWC outraged by new evidence of Russian atrocities in Ukraine

The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is outraged by new shocking evidence of war crimes and atrocities committed by the Russian invaders in Ukraine. The UWC again calls upon the international community to be resolute in establishing an International War Crimes Tribunal to prosecute the Russian Federation, its leadership, and everyone responsible and complicit in war crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine.

Several horrific videos published online this week showing the beheading of Ukrainian prisoners of war and mutilated bodies of other Ukrainian fighters is one more clear demonstration of the pure evil that brave Ukrainian defenders are fighting with on the frontlines.

“It seemed completely unimaginable that such heinous atrocities and war crimes could take place on Ukrainian soil in the 21st century. The Russian occupiers brought medieval terror and genocide to Ukrainian lands. We demand that all those responsible for these crimes against Ukraine and its people are held accountable, including Russia’s highest political and military leadership”, stated Paul Grod, UWC President.

The videos also show no difference between the Russian military and ISIS, which had been terrorizing the Middle East with exceptional cruelty in previous years. The videos are also a grim reminder that today, Ukraine is fighting for itself and for all civilized humanity, defending Europe from Russian barbarians.

“Today, we must ensure that Ukraine has the maximum military support to defend and liberate their people from Russia’s genocidal occupation. We must also ensure that Russia is brought to justice, and that is why we are calling on all UN member states to support the creation of an International Russian War Crimes Tribunal that will prosecute Russia and its leadership for its crimes of aggression”, Grod added.
