UKRAINIAN WORLD CONGRESS MOTTO AND IMPORTANT DATES FOR 2011
The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) announces the following motto for Ukrainian Diaspora activities throughout 2011:
“Svoyu Ukrainu lyubit … Za neyi Hospoda molit”
Translated as:
“Love your Ukraine … Pray to God for her!”
In addition, UWC will mark the following historical dates throughout the year:

20th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence (August 24, 1991); -
150th anniversary of the passing of Ukraine’s great poet Taras Shevchenko (March 10, 1861); -
70th anniversary of the Act of Renewal of Ukrainian Statehood (June 30, 1941); -
25th anniversary of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant Disaster (April 26, 1986); -
100th anniversary of the founding of the “Plast” Ukrainian youth organization.
