The leadership of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) participated in the Peace Formula Conference held on Oct. 30-31 in Montreal. The event gathered foreign ministers from Ukraine’s partner countries and experts from international and non-governmental organizations.
UWC President Paul Grod; UWC Vice President and President of the Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce (CUCC) Zenon Potoczny; and UCC President Alexandra Chyczij engaged in lively discussions and debates throughout the conference.
Co-organized by Canada and Norway, the event drew representatives from around 70 countries and international organizations. The discussions centered on the fourth point of Ukraine’s Peace Formula: “Release of Prisoners and Deportees.”
In his speech, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke of Russia’s strategy to exhaust Ukraine’s forces and instill a sense of war fatigue among its international partners, stressing the need to bolster support for Kyiv.
“After nearly a 1.000 days [since the full-scale war began], your resolve has never been stronger. Your belief in a free, democratic, secure and proud Ukraine is unwavering, and the coming victory will be yours. It will be all of ours,” Trudeau told the attendees.
A joint communiqué from the event will be issued once the conference concludes.
