UWC International Educational Coordinating Council is grateful for the support of the Summer Institute for teachers in Ukraine

Summer Institute 2019, organized by the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) International Educational Coordinating Council (IECC), continues its work in Ukraine thanks to the financial support of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation and its President Victor Hetmanczuk, Buduchnist Credit Union (Toronto, Canada), Mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovyi, and Mayor of Mukachevo Andriy Baloha.  

Beginning on July 1, 2019, school teams including the principal, vice-principal, school psychologist and teachers from the following disciplines: grade one, science, math, Ukrainian language and foreign language, attend professional development courses led by instructors from Canada and the United States together with co-instructors from Ukraine, and develop with their colleagues a joint project that will be realized during the 2019-2020 school year in their school.

The first phase of Summer Institute 2019, which ended July 5, 2019, included the participation of 20 school teams from Lviv and 5 teams from Lviv oblast. The next phase is being implemented  in Mukachevo, Zakarpattia oblast. 

The following individuals visited Summer Institute 2019 to learn more about the program: Vadym Karandiy, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; Roman Shiyan, Deputy Director of the Institute to Modernize Curriculum, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine;  Andriy Sadovyi, Mayor, City of Lviv; Ewa Wasniewski, Assistant Dean, School of Continuing Education, MacEwan University, Canada; Halyna Slichna, Deputy Mayor of Lviv responsible for Humanitarian Affairs; Zoriana Dovhanyk, Head of Education Management, Department of Humanitarian Affairs, City of Lviv; Lubomyra Mandziy, Director of the Department of Education and Science, Lviv Oblast Administration.
