UWC initiative Unite With Ukraine helps repair 30 military trucks

The Ukrainian World Congress initiative Unite With Ukraine demonstrated the first results of a project to repair and restore military trucks in close cooperation with the Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces, Major General Ihor Tantsyura.

On Monday, March 13, 2023, Ukrainian World Congress VP of Operations Zenon Potoczny visited a facility near Kyiv where GAZ-66 military trucks are repaired and restored for the use of Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a recent visit to Ukraine.

As part of its Unite with Ukraine initiative, UWC is proud to participate in this joint project in full cooperation with the Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces, major general Ihor Tantsyura. Zenon witnessed firsthand the results of this important work which allows for mobility and hauling capacity for territorial defenders in the most contested conflict zones.

Territorial Defense Forces often rely on trucks to transport personnel, equipment, and supplies to remote areas where they are needed. The truck repairing program is designed to address the specific needs of the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces. It is a comprehensive program that includes diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of vehicles. The trucks refurbished as part of the program are already part of the arsenal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, however due to decades of improper storage in warehouses across Ukraine that have made them inoperable these vehicles are in need some care and overhauling, and for a tenth of the cost of procuring new vehicles they are put into service.

The repairs are carried out by three shifts of thirty experienced mechanics that work around the clock and are skilled in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of mechanical and structural issues.

Thus far, the Unite with Ukraine initiative has helped with repairing 30 trucks. Pictured is the first party of many that will be overhauled and put back onto the road as part of this vital initiative. UWC has committed to restore 100 such pieces of equipment. These repairs have helped to ensure that the forces are able to carry out their missions effectively, transport personnel and equipment safely and efficiently, and maintain their readiness to respond to any threats to Ukraine’s security. Logistics wins wars.
