New deadline: 17 March 2019

The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) has extended the application deadline for short-term observers (STOs) of the UWC International Observation Mission (UWC Mission) to Ukraine’s 2019 Presidential Election to 17 March 2019.

The UWC STOs will assess the pre-election environment and the election process in the context of Ukraine’s domestic law, commitments to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the Council of Europe, as well as other international standards for democratic elections.

The UWC welcomes applications from individuals (excluding Ukrainian and Russian citizens) who during the first round (31 March 2019) and if necessary, during the second round (21 April 2019):

  • can travel to Ukraine to observe the electoral process;
  • temporarily or permanently reside in Ukraine and are willing to observe the electoral process or
  • are willing to observe the electoral process in one of Ukraine’s diplomatic missions abroad.

Individuals who wish to monitor the presidential election either in Ukraine or in one of Ukraine’s diplomatic missions abroad should fill in the relevant application forms available on the UWC Website and send them to [email protected] no later than 17 March 2019.

“I wish to thank the more than 100 UWC long-term observers currently monitoring the media for any foreign interference in Ukraine’s presidential election, as well as over 100 UWC STOs who will monitor Ukraine’s electoral process. I also appeal for additional volunteers to join the UWC Mission and contribute to strengthening Ukraine’s democracy” – said Head of UWC Mission Eugene Czolij.
