UWC delivers 750 FPV drones to Ukraine’s military

KYIV, Ukraine – April 11, 2025

The “Unite with Ukraine” initiative of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), in partnership with Saint Javelin, has delivered an additional 750 First Person View (FPV) drones to ten frontline units of Ukraine’s defense and security forces.

This delivery marks a significant step in enhancing Ukraine’s unmanned warfare capabilities as the country continues its fight for freedom and sovereignty.

Valued at over $345,000 (14 million hryvnia), the drones were funded by the Birds of Freedom 2.0 campaign – a joint fundraising effort supported by more than 1,600 individual donors from 22 countries.

The delivery reflects a growing reliance on high-precision, domestically produced drone technology in Ukraine’s defense strategy.

The “Unite with Ukraine” team, working closely with drone operators from each recipient unit, meticulously coordinated the order to meet specific operational needs. This strategic coordination ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of drone deployment.

All 750 drones were made in Ukraine by two producers, using seven-inch and 10-inch frame formats tailored to each unit’s combat assignments, geographic deployment, and mission profiles.

“At the Ukrainian World Congress, our unwavering commitment is to bolster Ukraine’s defensive capabilities, to protect innocent lives, ensure victory and safeguard our sovereignty. Drones and UAVs are no longer optional; they are indispensable in modern warfare. Ukraine is not merely adapting to the future of combat; it is pioneering it. This is why we have urgently delivered 750 high-performance drones, proudly manufactured in Ukraine by Ukrainian workers. This is not just a display of national pride; it is a strategic investment in triumphing in this war. We call upon the global Ukrainian community and all friends of Ukraine to donate to Unite With Ukraine. Your generous support is crucial – it directly fortifies Ukraine’s defense on the front lines,” said Paul Grod, President of the Ukrainian World Congress.

The FPV drones were distributed to the following units:

  • The “Babylon Group” of the 215th Battalion of the 125th Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
  • The “Kotyky” unit of the 130th Battalion of the 241st Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
  • The 1st Battalion of the 12th Special Operations Brigade “Azov” of the National Guard of Ukraine
  • The “Kryla” Special Unit of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine
  • The “Group Y” unit of Aerial Reconnaissance of the “Da Vinci’s Wolves” 108th Battalion of the 59th Separate Assault Brigade

  • The 122nd Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
  • The 114th Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

“This delivery of 750 FPV drones is the result of meticulous coordination, the generosity of our donors and partners, and their unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s defenders,” said Andrew Potichnyj, Director of the Unite with Ukraine initiative.”

He continued: “We worked hand-in-hand with frontline units to ensure every drone met their specific operational needs. These are not off-the-shelf tools, they are precision instruments for gaining a tactical advantage on the battlefield.”

Established in 2022 in response to Russia’s full-scale invasion, UWC’s “Unite with Ukraine” has grown into one of the most impactful global campaigns that supports Ukraine’s military.

To date, it has raised more than $61 million from donors in over 70 countries, enabling the procurement and delivery of essential military and medical equipment, including tactical supplies, armored vehicles, FPV drones, UAV systems, and other vital tools for frontline defense.

Saint Javelin, a social enterprise founded by Canadian journalist Christian Borys, has contributed over $2.5 million to Ukrainian military and humanitarian causes. Originating from a single viral sticker, the brand has evolved into a globally recognized platform for awareness and support, featured in leading media such as the BBC, Washington Post, and CNN.

The UWC urges supporters of Ukraine worldwide to continue contributing to Unite with Ukraine. With each donation, individuals directly empower defenders on the front lines and accelerate Ukraine’s path to victory.
