The Ukrainian World Congress delegation, including President Paul Grod, Vitório Sorotiuk, President of the Ukrainian-Brazilian Central Representation (UBCR), and Jorge Rybka, UBCR representative and Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Brazil, met with senators of the Federal Senate of Brazil during their visit to South America.
Senator Flávio Arns, Chair of the Brazil-Ukraine Parliamentary Group, officially introduced the UWC Delegation at the plenary session of the Senate. “We are obliged to support Brazil’s position against the invasion, established at the UN 23 years ago, and call for Russian troops to withdraw from Ukraine,” said Arns.

The Brazil-Ukraine Parliamentary Group wants to provide humanitarian support to Ukraine, Arns said. “We are united in dialogue and support, and we strive for an end to this invasion. We hope that Brazil’s commitments made at the UN will become a reality, reflecting the desires of our society and the world,” Arns concluded.
Paul Grod thanked Flávio Arns for his steadfast support of the Ukrainian community in Brazil and presented him with a commemorative award from the UWC.
During their visit to Brazil, the UWC Delegation also met with Flavio Goldman, the Director of the Department of Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mauro Vieira, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil.
“Discussions were held on peace negotiations for Ukraine, emphasizing the Brazilian community’s strong desire to support Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Extensive talks were also conducted with Senator Flávio Arns regarding the organization of a mission of senators to Ukraine,” said Vitório Sorotiuk.
During the visit, Paul Grod also thanked Brazil for its support of the Ukrainian community. At the same time, the UWC President expressed concern about strengthening relations between Brazil and Russia, particularly in trade, and emphasized that Brazil’s assistance to Ukraine could significantly contribute to restoring a just peace and global order.
