The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) congratulates the students of Lviv Polytechnic National University who produced a video project “Youth about the Ukrainian World Congress” to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
The project, initiated by the International Institute for Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations (IIECDR) of Lviv Polytechnic to engage students in learning about the UWC and the Ukrainian diaspora, was presented at this educational institution on 29 March 2017 at an event attended by Lviv Polytechnic Rector Dr. Yuriy Bobalo, IIECDR Director Dr. Iryna Kluchkovska, Chair of the UWC 50th Anniversary Committee Irene Mycak, Director of the UWC Mission to Ukraine Serhiy Kasyanchuk, and over 200 students and faculty.
Addressing the students, Irene Mycak shared the goals of the UWC in this anniversary year which include raising awareness of the UWC and the Ukrainian diaspora, and emphasizing the fact that all Ukrainians are an integral part of a strong force that will continue to shape the Ukrainian future.
In their eight (8) videos the students captured the main activities of the UWC in various spheres.
The video project is the first 50th anniversary project launched in Ukraine and one of a series of IIECDR 50th anniversary initiatives including a social media project featuring daily quotes about the UWC and a travelling exhibit about the UWC that will be visiting educational institutions and community events throughout Ukraine.
“This video project is a wonderful example of building bridges between the people of Ukraine and Ukrainians around the world, and we look forward to the videos being shared as widely as possible throughout this anniversary year,” stated Chair of the UWC 50th Anniversary Committee Irene Mycak.
