UKRAINIAN WORLD CONGRESS CONGRATULATES METROPOLITAN YURIJ, ARCHBISHOP OF WINNIPEG AND CENTRAL EPARCHY, METROPOLITAN OF CANADA
The enthronement of His Eminence Archbishop Yurij as Metropolitan of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada took place in Winnipeg on November 21, 2010. Representatives of the clergy, local government and Ukrainian community attended the ceremony.
The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) was represented at the ceremony by UWC Vice President and President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Paul Grod. He congratulated Metropolitan Yurij on the occasion of his enthronement and thanked him for his pastoral leadership in strengthening the Ukrainian Orthodox community, the development of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada and his contribution to maintaining and multiplying the spiritual achievements of the Ukrainian people.
UWC President Eugene Czolij said: “The Ukrainian World Congress would like to acknowledge Metropolitan Yurij’s dedicated work on the UWC Board of Directors and hopes that our successful cooperation will continue. We wish him boundless energy and inspiration in his faithful service to the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.”
