74 years ago, on April 28, more than 140,000 Ukrainians, under threat of death, left their homes forever. Separation from relatives and a long road in inhumane conditions awaited them ahead. Children, women, priests – for many of them, this road ended in a concentration camp. The forced resettlement operation destroyed the lives of Ukrainians from Lemkivshchyna, Nadsiannia, Western Boykivshchyna, Lyubachivshchyna, Kholmshchyna, and Southern Pidlyashya the operation became known as Wisla Operation (Akcja Wisła).

For years the communist regime tried to stifle the atrocious truth about these events. Preserving and acknowledging the true story of these events is our duty to the future generations of Ukrainians.
