UKRAINIAN WORLD CONGRESS CALLS UPON UKRAINE’S AUTHORITIES
TO ALLOW THE IMMEDIATE MEDICAL EVALUATION
OF YULIA TYMOSHENKO BY INDEPENDENT SPECIALISTS
On January 5, 2012, Yulia Tymoshenko’s press secretary reported that the leader of Ukraine’s opposition refused to be evaluated by a state-appointed medical commission and requested that such an evaluation be conducted by independent physicians appointed by international organizations and democratic countries. Ms. Tymoshenko’s refusal was based upon a distrust of the state-appointed physicians.
“The Ukrainian World Congress calls upon Ukraine’s authorities to allow the immediate medical evaluation of Yulia Tymoshenko by independent specialists from international organizations and democratic countries,” stated Ukrainian World Congress President Eugene Czolij.
