UWC calls on the G7 to help Ukraine and the Free World secure victory over Putin’s tyranny

As the leaders of the Group of Seven (G-7) countries gather for a summit in Hiroshima, Japan, the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is calling to further enhance sanctions against Russia to stop funding its war efforts and enabling Putin’s regime.

We also call on the G-7 to increase its support for Ukraine to help the country and the rest of the democratic world end Russia’s war by securing a Ukrainian victory and restoring Ukraine’s territorial integrity. Achieving a Ukrainian victory would signal the triumph of the rules-based international order as it will restore the primacy of justice and the rule of law on the international stage.

“The global leaders are gathering at a decisive time when Ukraine is preparing to launch a long-awaited counteroffensive to liberate its occupied territories from the genocidal Russian occupation. Ukrainians want peace more than anybody else in the world. But the only way to achieve such peace is to throw the Russian invaders out of Ukraine, restore the country’s territorial integrity, and liberate all of its people to stop the suffering and the genocide of Ukrainians,” stated the UWC President Paul Grod.

Unable to fully destroy Ukraine, Russia is now seeking to “freeze” the “conflict” and is resorting to various manipulations to persuade Ukrainian officials to negotiate and Ukraine’s allies to exert “pressure” on Kyiv and force Ukraine to sign a truce. Therefore, it is crucial that the G-7 countries do not give in to Russian demands.

Instead, we call on the G-7 to increase sanction pressure on Moscow, particularly by implementing more restrictions against Russia’s oil, gas, and nuclear energy sectors. Putin’s criminal regime must be deprived of the funds needed to continue Russia’s aggression and war against Ukraine.

We also call on the G-7 states to deliver F-16 fighter jets as well as more long-range artillery and missiles to Ukraine to push back the Russian forces and secure the complete liberation of Ukrainian territory. Ukrainians are grateful to the G-7 for its unwavering support for their country, but more is needed to end the war in the near future.

“The hatred and aggression that Russia offers to the world today will inevitably plunge it to chaos, endless wars, conflicts, and global instability. That is why we must stop Russia once and for all and give a good lesson to other tyrants dreaming of “changing the world order.” Ukraine’s victory is the most important task for our generation and will become a joint victory of the Free World that will guarantee long-term global stability,” President Grod added.
