The Ukrainian World Congress calls for support of Ukrainian athletes at the Olympic Games, which will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024, and to join the information campaign.
Street protests will not be allowed during the Olympics. As a result, the UWC is organizing an informational campaign in two phases. Initially, we will ask leaders of the Ukrainian diaspora and global sports personalities to create video messages cheering on our Olympians. These videos will be compiled and subsequently shared with our Olympians in Paris and on various social media platforms.
Our athletes need support during this difficult time for them and Ukraine. 13 million viewers will witness the Olympics in Paris. During the campaign, we propose using the following calls to action: “Ukrainians compete – Ukraine wins!”, “Ukrainians compete – Ukraine makes history! Let’s unite and win!”.
These messages can be recorded by community leaders or members, athletes with Ukrainian heritage or allies of Ukraine, local adult and children’s sports teams, and Ukrainian educational institutions. Instructions for recording videos are available at the provided link.
Recently, the UWC representatives led by Renata Roman, Chair of the UWC World Sport Committee, actively participated in a collaborative session of the NOC of Ukraine’s Ukrainians Worldwide and Olympic Education and Culture Commissions. They explored ways to help refugee children stay engaged with Ukrainian athletics and celebrate the impressive accomplishments of Ukrainian Olympians.
