The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) urgently calls upon its member organizations, Ukrainians throughout the diaspora and friends of Ukraine to join the UWC in re-focusing the attention of high-level government officials, media representatives and citizens in the countries of residence of the Ukrainian diaspora on the alarming escalation of military activity on Ukrainian territory by the Russian Federation, including the build-up of military technology in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine.
Specifically, it is imperative for the international community to:
- unequivocally condemn this escalation with which the Russian Federation continues to violate international law and agreements while blatantly disregarding the value of the lives of yet more innocent men, women and children who remain perilously at risk; and
- strengthen sanctions against the Russian Federation until it de-occupies Crimea and fully complies with the Minsk agreements.
“The Ukrainian World Congress calls for immediate unwavering action by the international community in response to the escalation of military activity by the Russian Federation on Ukrainian territory which underscores alarming imperialist ambitions and raises the omnipresent threat to global peace and security,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
