The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) together with its partner, the International Institute for Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations (IIECDR) of Lviv Polytechnic National University, is pleased to announce the program for Ukrainian Diaspora Days scheduled for 27-29 August 2017 in Lviv, Ukraine, marking the 50th anniversary of the UWC.
In preparation for welcoming the Ukrainian diaspora to the Lviv Oblast an Organizing Committee was established chaired by Head of the Lviv Oblast Administration Oleh Syniutka and including key individuals from the municipality and oblast, specifically Andriy Sadovyi (Mayor), Yuri Bobalo (Rector of Lviv Polytechnic), Vasyl Vovkun (Director of the Lviv Opera), Rev. Bohdan Prach (Rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University) and representatives of IIECDR.

In addition, the IIECDR has developed a series of projects to mark the UWC anniversary including a travelling exhibit about the UWC, videos about the UWC produced by Lviv Polytechnic journalism students, and quotes about the meaning and work of the UWC that appear daily on the Facebook pages of MIOK and UWC.

The brutal aggression of the Russian Federation has only made us stronger in the fight for independence, territorial integrity and our European civilized choice. The celebration of the 50th anniversary of the UWC is respect and gratitude for the travelled path and commitment to the continued joint efforts for Ukraine,” noted Director of IIECDR Iryna Kluchkovska.
