UWC and Veteran Hub discuss new initiatives to support Ukrainian veterans

On Wednesday, September 11, the President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), Paul Grod, met with representatives of civil society organizations at Veteran Hub to discuss Ukrainian veterans’ adaptation and reintegration. The event focused on exploring ways to strengthen cooperation to enhance the well-being of Ukrainian veterans, including new initiatives such as the “Mobile Office” program.

During the meeting, representatives of the Veteran Hub provided an overview of the Hub’s activities, highlighting various programs that support veterans and their families. Special emphasis was placed on the “Mobile Office” program, which delivers outreach services to veterans in remote areas. This program is partially funded by the UWC, with funding set to continue through 2024 and into 2025.

The participants discussed key challenges and opportunities for improving collaboration between civil society and government institutions in veteran affairs. Particular attention was given to the role of civil society in shaping policies that support veterans. Veteran Hub demonstrated its position as a leading center actively working with other organizations and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.

“Veteran Hub is an important example of how civil society can effectively assist veterans. By partnering with such organizations, the UWC can better understand the needs of Ukrainian soldiers and provide them with essential support at all levels. We also aim to strengthen this support through the Ukrainian diaspora worldwide,” said Paul Grod, UWC President.
