The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) addressed the General Secretary of NATO Jens Stoltenberg in advance of the March 24 Extraordinary NATO Summit in Brussels, and called upon the Alliance and upon all NATO leaders to act with resolve in immediately meeting their prior public commitments to supply Ukraine with defensive weapons.
On behalf of the UWC and the global Ukrainian community, Paul Grod thanked Mr. Stoltenberg and the North Atlantic Alliance for standing firm with Ukraine in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity. At the same time, the UWC President stressed that Ukraine urgently needed weapons and equipment to defend itself and the whole Europe from the bloodthirsty Russian war of aggression.
Specifically, he called upon NATO member states to deliver to Ukraine fighter jets, tank busting bombers, anti-tank and air-defense systems, including military drones.
The UWC President also called upon NATO to protect Ukraine’s airspace, especially humanitarian corridors and strategic regions, and impose a total economic blockade of Russia, including border crossing and maritime activities.
“NATO must take bold actions to end Russia’s war crimes and genocide against the Ukrainian people. We call on you and all NATO leaders to demonstrate the will and immediately arm Ukraine with urgently needed weapons and equipment. Not only the future of Ukraine, but the future of the international security order is at stake today,” – reads the official letter.
