On the first anniversary of the downing of Malaysia Airlines MH17 on 17 July 2014 the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) and Ukrainians worldwide remember the victims of this horrific terrorist act.
The Malaysian passenger airliner carrying 298 passengers was travelling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it was shot down by Russia-backed forces over Eastern Ukraine.
The victims were from Netherlands, Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Philippines, New Zealand and Canada.
“The Ukrainian World Congress stands firmly with the families and friends of the victims of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in calling upon the international community to pursue criminal accountability for this act of terrorism,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
