Ukrainians in France call for closing Ukrainian sky

The Ukrainian Community in France urged the global community to help close the Ukrainian sky, reported Volodymyr Kogutyak, UWC Vice President for Western Europe. The rally took place on April 27 in Paris.

Participants of the initiative appealed to Ukraine’s partners to provide air defense systems. “The French army helped Israel defend its sky from Iranian attacks. Why not apply this experience in Ukraine so that European partners protect at least some regions?” says Kogutyak.

The rally’s participants marched through the streets of the French capital with slogans such as “Europe, Close Ukraine’s Sky,” “Weapons for Ukraine,” and reminded the French that Russia is the world’s main state terrorist. The march took place from Place de la République to Place de la Bastille. Representatives of the Ukrainian community, French citizens, members of civil associations, and Paris city councilor François Béchieau attended the event.

The Ukrainian community in France has been holding regular rallies in support of Ukraine for over two years – since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. The events take place twice a week.
