The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA), Illinois Division, is preparing to boycott the Consumer Goods Forum, scheduled for June 11-14 in Chicago. The event will take place at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk hotel.
“CEOs of global companies including those that never exited ruzzia are arriving to Chicago to attend. Every dollar of their corporate taxes paid to the Kremlin’s coffers translates into more missiles and drones used by Russia to terrorize Ukrainians. It’s time to stop this once and for all!” says the local Ukrainian community.
Ukrainians in Chicago are calling on concerned individuals to join the protest on June 11, 2024, at 4:30 PM at 301 E. North Water St. “We must raise our voices in protest against these global companies. Public outcry is essential. Let’s make our stand together! Your presence is crucial!” wrote the rally organizers. The UCCA, Illinois Division, has been running a campaign against the American company Mondelez, which has not yet exited the Russian market. The latest protest took place on May 18, reported Dr. Mariya Dmytriv-Kapeniak, M.D., President of the UCCA Illinois Division.
