The Ukrainian Association of South Africa hosted an interactive event in Cape Town to share the truth about the war in Ukraine.
At the University of Cape Town, organizers set up Living the War virtual reality stations. Anyone interested could wear special glasses and ‘transport’ themselves to Ukrainian cities. “In just four minutes, people can not only connect to Ukraine but also experience Ukraine as a technologically advanced country that uses new means of communication,” the Ukrainian Association of South Africa wrote.
The firsthand experience deeply moved participants of the event. “It made me feel what Ukrainians are going through!” “Ukrainians are incredibly resilient!”, “This was the first time I have experienced anything like this!” – those present shared their impressions.
Ukrainians continue defending their territory from the invasion of agressor on the battlefield and our information space from manipulations and disinformation. As every human should have the right to choose the values of life and freedom, the Ukrainian Association of South Africa said.
The event was organized with Ukraine’s assistance: War in VR project, which documents the consequences of the war in a 360/VR Video format, as well as the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of South Africa.
