CALL TO ACTION
The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) urges the international community to join the global days of support for Nadiya Savchenko on 21-22 March 2016, scheduled to coincide with the expected verdict in the case.
The Ukrainian Member of Parliament and delegate to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, who has endured kidnapping, imprisonment of almost 600 days, involuntary psychiatric evaluation and solitary confinement, remains on a hunger strike which began on 4 March 2016. The former Ukrainian Air Force pilot is currently on trial in the Russian Federation on politically motivated charges.
Show your support for Nadiya Savchenko with these specific actions:
- Participate in the scheduled twitter storm.
- Notify local media to raise awareness of Nadiya’s critical situation and call for her immediate release;
- Organize local events that can include demonstrations, marches, vigils or meetings in community centres or even private homes;
