The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) recognizes the significant work of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine under the leadership of Acting Minister of Health Dr. Ulana Suprun which has demonstrated how a dedicated group of individuals can further reforms in Ukraine.

Since being appointed Acting Minister of Health in July 2016, Dr. Ulana Suprun has implemented a range of projects and initiatives designed to improve health care for the Ukrainian people, including a system that is transparent, viable and accessible to all, and consequently free of corruption.

The planned reforms for the health care system include the following: ensuring that all Ukrainians have access to primary and emergency care; the individual licensing of doctors; the development of a National Health Insurance Agency that will pay for services at hospitals; the development of an e-health database; and the establishment of a national drug procurement agency within the Ministry.

In light of the successes achieved in such a short period of time by the dedicated Ministry of Health team for the benefit of the Ukrainian people, the UWC is appalled by the absurd attempts to discredit the Acting Minister of Health and hinder the work of the Ministry.

“The Ukrainian World Congress encourages Ukrainians around the world to follow and share the great work of the Acting Minister of Health Dr. Ulana Suprun and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine as one concrete example of reforms for the benefit of the Ukrainian people and their aspirations for European integration,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
