On 13 June 2015 Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Eugene Czolij spoke during the Wroclaw Global Forum panel titled Ukraine: Reform in Time of War.

The UWC President stressed that the international community should provide Ukraine financial assistance akin to the Marshall Plan to enable it to overcome the consequences of Russian aggression, introduce necessary reforms and accelerate the process of Ukraine’s Euro-integration. In addition, Ukrainians should be provided with a visa-free regime to ensure that their European choice is irreversible.

Eugene Czolij stated that Ukraine is fighting a powerful Russian disinformation campaign aimed at discrediting it as a state.

He added that the international community must also understand that Russian President Vladimir Putin is challenging it with Eastern Ukraine. The UWC President concluded that if the international community does not react in a decisive manner at this time, then President Vladimir Putin will test Section 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty which could lead to a third world war.

Panelists included the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavičius, US Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oksana Syroyid, Mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovyi and Chair of the Advisory Board of the Lviv Business School and former Ukrainian Minister of Economic Development and Trade Pavlo Sheremeta. The moderator of the discussion was Atlantic Council Executive Vice President Damon Wilson.

The Wroclaw Global Forum is the leading transatlantic conference in Poland, bringing together outstanding policy and business entrepreneurs for discussions focused on the core transatlantic values of democracy, prosperity, and security. The Forum is organized by the Atlantic Council, the city of Wroclaw and The Polish Institute of International Affairs.
