On 7 February 2016 in Montreal, Canada, Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Eugene Czolij met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Andriy Shevchenko.
The UWC President discussed with the Ukrainian Ambassador the means to strengthen joint efforts in furthering current Ukrainian issues and indicated that he is looking forward to a close working relationship with the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada, taking into account that the UWC Head Office is located in Toronto, Canada.
On this day, Eugene Czolij delivered greetings during a meeting of the Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada with the Ukrainian community in Montreal with which the Ambassador began a cross-country tour on the 75th anniversary of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and the 125th anniversary of Ukrainian settlement in Canada
The UWC President welcomed the new Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada and extended wishes for much success in his work, first and foremost, in defending the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Eugene Czolij also recognized the Ukrainian Canadian Congress for its successful leadership and dedicated work for the benefit of Ukraine and the Ukrainian community in Canada, and for the long‑standing productive cooperation with the UWC.
