Ukrainian World Congress President addressed meetings of the Ukrainian diaspora in Kyiv

From 20-23 August 2016 Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Eugene Czolij addressed the VI World Forum of Ukrainians, the Annual General Meeting of the World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations, the Annual General Meeting of the UWC World Council of Ukrainian Cooperatives and the 19th Meeting of the Conference of Ukrainian Organizations Plast, all of which took place during these days in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The UWC President welcomed the participants and guests of these events on the occasion of the 25^th anniversary of the independence of Ukraine and highlighted that the greatest accomplishments during these years were the rebirth of the national consciousness of the Ukrainian people, their dedication to the principles of democracy and the ideal of freedom, great patriotism, assumption of responsibility for the future of their state and solidarity in aspiring to strengthen their homeland.

“The Ukrainian nation has tremendous potential and our common goal today is to assist it in overcoming Russian aggression and in ensuring that Ukraine takes its deserved place among independent, democratic and successful European states,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
