The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is extremely concerned about the statement by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Secretary General Lamberto Zannier that the current situation in the east of Ukraine was making it impossible for the OSCE observer mission to fulfill its mandate.

The OSCE Secretary General was quoted as saying that “given that our primary task was to help de‑escalate the conflict, we are concerned because there really is an escalation. We’ve seen military equipment entering the region during a ceasefire.”

“The Ukrainian World Congress urges all OSCE participating states to facilitate the continued work of the OSCE observer mission in Ukraine despite the very difficult situation and ensure that the Ukrainian people are not abandoned at this critical time,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
