Ukrainian World Congress calls upon the President of Ukraine to not sign Customs Union agreement
On the eve of the trip of President Viktor Yanukovych to Moscow, the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) urges him to not, under any circumstance, sign the Customs Union agreement, to cease all non-transparent negotiations with the President of Russia and to not enter into any agreements with Russia that would bring Ukraine closer to the Customs Union.
“The UWC calls upon the governing authorities of Ukraine to act in accordance with the lawof Ukraine On the principles of foreign and domestic policies and, listening to the will of the Ukrainian people, demonstrate, as quickly as possible, with concrete actions the renewal of preparations for signing the EU‑Ukraine Association Agreement instead of moving toward the Customs and Eurasian unions which constitutes a revival of the Soviet Union,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
